Finding where a pool is losing water, from the pump seals and pipe joints to the suction and return lines, and repairing the leak once it is found.
Pool Pump Repair
Repair or replacement of a pool pump that hums but will not start, will not prime, leaks at the seal or trips the breaker.
Pool Heater Repair
Repair or replacement of gas pool heaters and heat pumps that run without heating, ice up, show an error code or leave water under the unit.

Pool repair in Cape Coral: what we cover
Pool repair in Cape Coral and the rest of Lee County comes in two kinds. The first is the equipment and plumbing that keep the water moving and warm: pool pump repair, pool heater repair for gas heaters and heat pumps, and pool leak detection when the water level keeps dropping. Lights, filters, salt cells and automation belong here too; choose “Other pool repair” on the request form.
The second is the surfaces. Pool resurfacing replaces a worn interior finish with marcite plaster, quartz or pebble. Pool remodeling takes in the waterline tile, coping, steps and lights as well, and pool deck resurfacing deals with the concrete around the water.
Not sure which one you need? Start with what you can see. If the level drops faster than you expect, the bucket test tells a leak from evaporation. If you have found a crack, read how to tell surface crazing or a structural crack apart. If the finish feels rough or looks blotchy, these are the signs your plaster is worn out.
Pools in Cape Coral: what is different here
Permits. Cape Coral issues its own building permits through the City of Cape Coral Building Division, and state-certified contractors register their license with the city. The division has a residential Pool Renovation permit, which a pool contractor (CPC), a general contractor (CGC) or an owner-builder can apply for. Depending on the parcel and the scope of work, it may also call for a Notice of Commencement, a FEMA packet or elevation certificate, or an Eagle Management Affidavit. Replacing an electric or a gas pool heater has its own residential permit guideline. The renovation guideline does not say whether resurfacing on its own counts as a renovation, so ask the Building Division about your job.
Water. Cape Coral treats its drinking water by reverse osmosis from the Upper Floridan Aquifer, then blends raw water back in “to increase alkalinity and hardness to a moderate level”. The city’s 2025 water quality report says: “City water has 5.5 to 6.5 grains per gallon of total hardness.” Fill water matters to plaster: SGM, a Florida maker of pool finishes, writes that water running low on pH or calcium etches plaster and water running high scales and stains it. What that means for one pool is for a water test to say, and a pebble-finish maker’s start-up guide recommends testing the source water before a newly finished pool is filled.
Homes. The Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (2020-2024) counts 100,679 housing units in Cape Coral. Just over half of them (50.7%) were built in 2000 or later, and 79.4% are single-family detached homes.
Licenses. Before anyone starts work, look them up in the state’s license lookup at myfloridalicense.com. A Cape Coral business license is not the same thing; the city says it “does not ensure they are licensed or insured.”
Fort Myers runs its own permits too, under different rules: see pool repair in Fort Myers. Every other place we cover, with each ZIP code, is on our Lee County service area page.

Questions, answered
Frequently asked questions
How do I check a pool contractor’s license in Florida?
Search the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s license lookup at myfloridalicense.com by name, license number, city or county, or license type. Pool licenses there include Residential Pool/Spa Contractor, Commercial Pool/Spa Contractor and Swimming Pool/Spa Servicing Contractor, and certified contractors carry an occupation code that begins with C. In Cape Coral, the business license the city issues does not, on its own, show that a contractor is licensed or insured.
Does a pool renovation in Cape Coral need a permit?
The City of Cape Coral Building Division has a residential Pool Renovation permit, which a pool contractor (CPC), a general contractor (CGC) or an owner-builder can apply for. The guideline does not say whether resurfacing on its own counts as a renovation, so ask the Building Division about your job before work starts.
Which areas do you cover?
Cape Coral, Fort Myers and the rest of Lee County, Florida, including Lehigh Acres, North Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel and Pine Island. The service area page lists every ZIP code.
Is the quote free?
Yes. Sending a request and getting a written quote are both free, and neither commits you to anything.
